Do you want to skip the trial and error and be geared up and "gone camping with the kids" in as little as 2-4 weeks?
Introducing
The Camping Kickstart Program
Camping isn't rocket science, but there are plenty of things that might not go your way.
And, it's definitely not pleasant learning the do's and don'ts of camping at the campsite.
- If you don't want to learn the hard way about how to camp - what to do in a storm, how to pack for camping and how to stay warm at night
- If you haven't got time to wade through endless blog posts, Youtube videos and Facebook posts trying to work it all out yourself
- If you don't want to waste a lot of money buying products only to find that they don't meet your needs - too big, too small, too hard to setup, too flimsy, just gimmicks
- If you don't want to tow anything unless you really have to, and you don't want an enormous car either
Then, If You Sign Up To The Camping Kickstart Program
- You could be camping like a pro in a tried and tested but customised tent camping setup
- You don't have to settle for less enjoyable and more expensive hotel, cabin or resort style holiday accommodation
- You don't have to holiday at home and constantly harass the kids about screen time when you could take them camping
And camping will be so much more enjoyable and rewarding
Now, with your Camping Kickstart:
- You can get the kids off the screens without any argument, because they are going camping
- You don't need to go to the expense and effort of trailers, camper trailers and caravans*
- Your kids will become more independent, resilient and adventurous - and who doesn't want that for their kids!
- You will always have an inexpensive getaway from the hustle and bustle of your daily life
- Your mental and physical health will improve through camping
- Camping will become so much more enjoyable because you don't have to reinvent the wheel, make costly mistakes and go through all of that trial and error
* For families or groups of up to 5

The inspiration behind Camping Kickstart Program
Hi there, this is Joanne here and I'd like to tell you a bit about my "why" for The Campus and the Camping Kickstart Program.
It all started back in early 2011 during our first camping experience as a family. It was a memorable one - but for all the wrong reasons! Up against a week-long record rainfall event, we were ill-prepared in many ways. If not for the hospitality of our co-camping friends, who all had plenty of shelter and creature comforts brought along curtesy of their trailers, we would have returned home not long after we arrived.
Camping isn't rocket science, but plenty of things can go wrong if you are learning the hard way at the campsite
After that experience, I went back to the drawing board. Basically, I wanted what our friends had, but minus the trailer. We lived in inner city Melbourne and didn't own a trailer, didn't want one, had nowhere to store it, and weren't comfortable towing it over long distances anyway.
After many hours of research and a lot of trial and error and buyers regret over several years, I came up with a great camping setup for four people - one we could transport with our mid-size car in a safe manner. After all of that effort just for our family, surely it shouldn't end there.
"next to no specific trailer-free information available online and an obvious under representation of TFF's"
More and more families these days are living in smaller properties with ever decreasing backyards, if there actually is one! Add to that next to no specific trailer-free information available online and an obvious under representation of TFF's (trailer free families) at campgrounds.
I decided to do something about it and to help others with similar challenges and other barriers to camping.
Hence, The Campus and the Camping Kickstart Program!
Since then, we have also built up an extensive and growing library of resources to address many of the challenges that you might come across in the great outdoors to help you to camp comfortably, safely and responsibly - trailer free.
If you want to start taking the kids camping and you are just starting out, this site is a must. You will save so much time and money buy avoiding all of the guess work, and the kids will have a great time.

"I can't picture it" I hear you say
We're not talking about the teeny tiny two person dome tent experience of your youth. It's a proper family camping setup with good outdoor shelter, a great camp kitchen and plenty of other features to suit you an your family.
If you follow our advice you would blend in with most other tent camping families around camp, and if you want to stand out, then there's plenty of options there as well.

Our Camping Code
Like most people, we want our camping to be comfortable and fun! We're certainly not perfect, but we also aim to camp in accordance with the following principles:
- We care about the environment and aim to leave no trace
- We are considerate of local cultures and communities, fellow campers and our hosts
- We aim to buy well and buy once
- We are safety and budget conscious, and resourceful
While there may be some unavoidable compromises along the way, we try to stay true to our code, and we encourage our members to also.
All of this and much more, ONLY inside The Campus.
The Campus is only new but it already has a lot of information covering so much about camping and all in one place. I especially like the eco-friendly camping and the health and safety focus.
